Two years – and counting – of Yoga with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive

We're delighted that our online Yoga Fundamentals partnership with the Northern Ireland Housing Executive has been going strong now for just around 3 years, and keeps going :)

Fitness Belfast delivers a weekly LIVE online yoga programme to NIHE staff – free of charge to employees – every Friday lunchtime with every session is recorded too, so anyone who can't make it live can catch up in their own time, or revisit a class whenever they like.

Yoga Fundamentals is a progressive, beginner-friendly 45–60 minute practice that blends yoga, meditation and mobility work in a relaxed, welcoming environment. It's designed to help reduce workplace stress, build a sense of community across teams, improve posture, strength and mobility, and encourage people to "take 5" for a healthier work-rest balance.

A few things we're proud of from the journey so far:

  • A loyal core group shows up week after week, with recordings consistently viewed dozens of times per session – often far more than the live attendance, showing how people fit wellbeing around busy working days.

  • Teams have started joining in together from shared spaces, turning a yoga class into something genuinely communal.

  • Some of the most rewarding feedback has come from people who described themselves as previously very inactive, or managing injuries or other challenges, taking that crucial first step.
