Chair Yoga with a view at the new home of AXA Northern Ireland

We recently had the pleasure of helping the team at AXA Northern Ireland settle into their incredible new surroundings at The Ewart on Bedford Street, with a morning chair yoga/movement session.

Working to a brief from the AXA NI team, the purpose of this tailored session was to highlight the many benefits of taking time out - at our desk, or away from the desk - to move more during the working day.

Chair based yoga & movement can help:

  • Improve cognitive function through better work/movement balance

  • Promote better posture & reduce low back pain

  • Can increase feelings of emotional wellbeing

  • Promote better quality sleep

The sessions are designed to give each participant a toolbox of moves they can take away and use during their own working day, but it goes without saying that getting your move on in the company of other like minded individuals adds an extra feel good factor! 🕺

That’s why sessions like this are so important, and why AXA NI & I were keen to stress the importance of reducing the stigma, and normalising, taking time during the working day to move/stretch/breathe/walk etc.

Put simply - taking regular breaks to breathe deeply, stretch, move & smile will go a long way to helping your mind & body feel awesome at work!
