Welcome to NIHE + Fitness Belfast: Yoga Fundamentals Online

Yoga Fundamentals Online Programme is a progressive, 45-60 min, beginner friendly yoga practice combining yoga, meditation and mobility training in a fun and mellow environment. 

These sessions are designed to: 

  • Decrease stress and increase mental well being within the workplace

  • Improve workforce camaraderie and sense of community

  • Increase postural awareness, strength and mobility

  • Build resistance to physical and mental fatigue

  • Highlight importance of “Taking 5” to improve productivity through better work rest balance.

With detailed posture breakdowns & options for all levels, you’ll not be going it alone :)

Yoga Fundamentals will take place LIVE on Zoom, Fridays @ 12.30pm, on the following dates:

  • 6, 13, 20, 27 October; 10, 17, 24 November, 1 December 2023

This programme is being provided to NIHE employees, free of charge, and sign up is being facilitated by Fitness Belfast.

In order to validate your sign up, please use your NIHE email at sign up. This email will be used by Fitness Belfast for correspondence regarding this programme only, unless you choose to opt in to wider Fitness Belfast newsletter updates. These details will not be shared with NIHE.

At sign up below, you’ll be asked some questions about your health & fitness. In line with our Terms & Conditions, these details will only be used for the safe running of this course, and will not be shared with NIHE. If any of your health & fitness circumstances change through the duration of the programme, you should advise us immediately at gary@fitnessbelfast.com

LIVE Zoom sessions will be recorded for access by participants for repeating or catching up, these will feature largely the instructors screen / image, however short appearances by speaking participants etc may also feature.

STAYING SAFE: SOME CONDITIONS OF TAKING PART

You can see the full Terms & Conditions for all Fitness Belfast classes, including Fitness Belfast LIVE & Online classes, here, but here are some (hopefully common sense) highlights:

  • Before starting this (or any exercise programme), if you have any concerns about your overall fitness, you should consult your GP (or other medical professional - Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist etc). This is particularly important if you are returning from illness, a break in exercise, if you are pregnant, taking medication, have low or high blood pressure, or have any other existing medical condition or injuries.

  • In this programme, as with any exercise programme, if any movement doesn't feel right, take a break and/or skip poses or sequences that are not suitable for you. If you feel dizzy, light-headed, faint, or if you experience any other discomfort, STOP immediately and rest, consulting medical advice if the symptoms don’t pass.

  • Make sure you have enough space to move safely and freely without obstacles or obstructions.

  • Most episodes include warm ups and cool downs, however some might not. You know your own body – always include extra warm ups and cool downs where needed to avoid injuries.

  • If you buy an Online or LIVE programme, you’ll have agreed to use it responsibly and fairly, and that includes not sharing it with others who will not have had the opportunity to fully understand it, it’s use, and agree to the terms & conditions.

  • By performing any fitness exercises without supervision, you are performing them at your own risk, and you acknowledge that Fitness Belfast will not be responsible or liable for any injury or harm you sustain as a result of this video.
