WELCOME TO THE BELFAST RAVENS YOGA CLUB –  A SPECIAL ONLINE YOGA-FOR-FOOTBALL PROGRAMME :)

I’ve now been the proud sponsor of Belfast Ravens Ladies Football Club since January 2019, and I’m thrilled to bring this exclusive yoga programme to their training mix.

I work with a lot of sporty individuals skeptical about dedicating some time each week to practicing yoga. Excuses vary from "I don’t have the time", to "I’m not flexible enough", to "I’m better off in the gym surely?"

While I can see a little bit of validity in each point (except for the point on flexibility… more on that here), I think it’s best to highlight some of the major reasons your favourite sports stars like LeBron James, Maria Sharapova, and even Stone Cold Steve Austin are ditching the dumbbells for more mindful movement.

In my 5 Reasons Yoga is Awesome for Sport blog post, I talk about how yoga boosts athleticism and improves mental clarity, how yoga is functional movement and increases mobility, and maybe most importantly for sport, how yoga helps prevent injury.

This 4 week progressive programme is exclusively for current Belfast Ravens club members, and will be focussed on helping them make the best of their other training, and getting them ready to get back to matches (yay!) confident & strong :)
